CalArts Posters
As a designer for the CalArts School of Film/Video, I created posters for a range of events and visiting artist programs. Each poster was developed with attention to medium-specific qualities—motion graphics for digital platforms and silkscreen printing for physical installations. This project allowed me to explore how format and material influence visual communication, while maintaining a cohesive identity across different media.
Design as a Question
This project visualizes my evolving design philosophy through an interactive website. The site acts as a metaphorical interface, where each popup becomes a frame for exploring ideas. It emphasizes discovery over immediacy. A dynamic highlight effect reflects shifting perspectives and invites users to navigate content based on curiosity instead of hierarchy. Developed through iterative coding and collaboration with AI, the site reflects my interest in design as an open-ended inquiry and as a tool for shaping how we experience the world.
Super Ultra Modern Graphic
This project began with an analysis of a music video’s visual structure, focusing on rhythm, repetition, and typographic cues to understand how meaning is built through motion. These observations became the foundation for a printed publication that explores the bold, surreal, and hyper-stylized visual language of contemporary K-pop. The book is organized into three sections that follow a shared grid system, each interpreted differently to reflect changes in content and tone. A smaller insert is also included, maintaining alignment with the main layout to ensure editorial coherence. The project examines how visual systems can move between motion and print, emphasizing structure, rhythm, and variation.
